Pembrokeshire Working Gundog Society was formed in 1982 after a meeting of like-minded sportsmen and women held a meeting in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
Its main aim was to promote and encourage good working gundog training and practice for anyone who was interested. Within a few years the Society held its first working tests and field trials, and now five field trials for spaniels and two working tests are held each year.
The Society has Open status for both E.S.S. and Cockers and holds Open and Novice E.S.S and Open & Novice cocker stakes as well as one Novice A.V. spaniel stake.
Most of these trials are held outside Pembrokeshire, some near the Wales/England border.
Applications for membership is open to all with necessary proposer and seconder support.
